  1. This is a beautifully written and very thoughtful article — thank you for sharing it. I know that this point is moot, but perhaps at the time you could have approached the teacher and suggested that after all the washcloths, etc, were collected, and all the students were thanked and made to feel good for their work, that those washcloths could have been donated to a different charity, perhaps a local homeless shelter, that would indeed have benefited from it.
