Religious School is only one element of a full program of congregational education.
Not only did congregational schools become the pariahs of the community, but even the Jewish parents and their children who attended these schools were seemingly discarded as irrelevant to the continuity and survival of American Jewry.
It would be a crime to turn congregational schools into camps and clubs. Ignorance should not be the inheritance of the next generation.
We must place teacher learning at the center of transforming congregational schools.
